Meet the Team

Jamie MacQueen

Meet Coach Jamie MacQueen.

Coach MacQueen has been a local talent since he was young. Growing up Jamie played for the St. Thomas Jr. Stars while also playing London Jr. Knights AAA and Elgin-Middlesex Canucks AAA hockey for much of his minor hockey days.

After minor hockey he went on to have a 4 year junior career joining the London Nationals as a 16 year old.  After 2 seasons with the Nationals he moved on to play Junior A in the OPJHL with stops with the  Aurora Tigers, Pickering Panthers, and Vaughan Vipers.

In 2008, Jamie signed a scholarship with Bemidji State University where he won an NCAA championship in his Rookie season with the Beavers.

After 4 years with Bemidji, Jamie turned Pro, joining the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL.  During his time in North America, he made stops with the Lake Erie Monsters, Norfolk Admirals, St. John’s Ice Caps, and the Iowa Wild of the AHL while also making stops in the ECHL with the Utah Grizzlies and the CHL with the Denver Cutthroats.

Jamie finished his Pro career overseas in Germany, where he played for the Eisbaren Berlin, Schwenninger Wild Wings, and the Iserlohn Roosters of the DEL.  He also played with the Eispiraten Crimmitschau and the Kassel Huskies of the DEL2, winning a DEL2 championship in 2015-16.

Coach MacQueen has not lost his competitive spirit in retirement.  He is currently playing Sr. AA hockey as a member of the Tillsonburg Thunder of the WOSHL.

Coach MacQueen is excited to pass his knowledge of the game onto the next generation of players.

Chris McGuffin

Meet coach Chris McGuffin.

Like Coach MacQueen, Coach McGuffin is another product of the local minor hockey system.  Growing up Chris played for the St. Thomas Jr. Stars before going on to finish his minor hockey days as a member of the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks AAA hockey program.

After minor hockey he went on to have a 4 year Jr. B career with the St. Thomas Stars and the Sarnia Legionnaires of the GOJHL.  His junior career was capped off with winning the Bill Weir Cup as Western Jr. B champions in 2008-09 as a member of the Sarnia Legionnaires.

After junior, Chris moved on to play Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) as a member of the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.

Coach McGuffin has been playing Sr. Hockey at both the AA and AAA levels for the past 13 seasons.  He has won a Robertson Cup as Ontario Sr. AAA Champions as a member of the Dundas Real McCoys and had the opportunity to compete for the Allan Cup, which is awarded to the Senior AAA Champions of Canada each season. He currently plays with MacQueen for the Tillsonburg Thunder of the WOSHL.

He has previously worked with Mike Ellis, former Toronto Maple Leafs and current Tampa Bay Lightning Skills and Development coach.  Coach McGuffin worked with Ellis Hockey Detail for 10+ years.

Away from the rink, Coach McGuffin is a local elementary school teacher with TVDSB.  He is looking forward to taking his passion for teaching to the ice and helping players better themselves day by day and reach their full potential.
